English Linguistics is the journal of the English Linguistic Society of Japan. It is published twice a year. All articles will be in English. In principle only members of the society are qualified to contribute. Articles are restricted to unpublished work, but papers delivered at meetings or published in JELS or as working papers and the like that have been appropriately revised are eligible when that fact is noted.
English Linguistics is primarily concerned with English linguistics (either synchronic or diachronic), linguistic theory, and the comparison of English with other languages (especially Japanese). Each issue of the journal consists of three sections: Articles, Notes and Discussion, and commissioned Review Articles.
